Hello, I am Hans Bjelke.

Throughout his journey into
the center of the Earth, Hans advanced only with extreme precaution and a goal: protect his comrades at all costs. When the raft dashed upon the rocks, and hurled its crew into the waves; Hans Bjelke was there
to carry his men ashore and out of the reach of the treacherous water. With his powerful arms
he returned to the rocks, against which the furious waves were beating, to save any and all supplies that he could.

He accepted the enterprise with such calmness, such indifference, such perfect disregard of any possible danger.

Hans Bjelke not only fulfilled a humble request, but he contributed an important role for the science and environmental community.
Now Hans is ready to begin his next journey: becoming the Minister for the Environment and Natural Resources of Iceland. There are several goals that Hans would work to reform and complete if he becomes the next Minister of the Environment
and Natural Resources. He is interested in three key concepts: sustainable tourism, reforestation (together with soil erosion),
and noise pollution.

what is on the agenda?

Sustainable Tourism

Hans has proposed a small eco-friendly tax on planes and major tourist routes in Iceland. These funds will go towards preserving the environment, exploring the center of the Earth, and researching the resources that lie below!

Reforestation

While exploring the center
of the Earth, giant, tree-like mushrooms were discovered. Hans is researching
the possibility of this vegetation surviving above the soil, to help combat the severe
soil erosion Iceland has
been facing.

Noise Pollution

Hans plans on altering cruise ship speeds and schedules traveling near and through Iceland, by adjusting ship schedules noise pollution can drastically be reduced. He would also like to introduce
a new holiday dedicated
to peace and quiet.
